While Away is made by Conaprojekt s.p., Kranj, Slovenia (EU), which is the data controller. Contact: [email protected].
The While Away app stores your household, pet and trip information only on your device. We do not run servers for the app, and we do not receive, sell or share that data. If you turn on backup, it goes to your own iCloud Drive or Files location, under Apple's terms. Guides you export are shared only by you, through the channel you choose.
When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and your answers to the two short questions, so that we can tell you when the app launches and understand who it's for. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). We also record anonymous page events (a visit, a sample opened, a PDF downloaded) together with the referring site. These events contain no cookies and no personal identifiers.
This data is processed on our behalf by Cloudflare (hosting), Hetzner (EU server running our automation), Airtable (storage) and Resend (email delivery). We keep waitlist data until launch plus 12 months, or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first.
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, at any time by emailing [email protected] or using the unsubscribe link in any email. You can also complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner (ip-rs.si).
